STEP 13 · THE ONE NOBODY SELLS YOU

The last step of your night routine.

You spend thirty minutes a night on your face. Then you breathe through your mouth for the next eight hours. One soft hydrocolloid strip keeps your lips closed — your nose does the rest.

The gap

The whole beauty industry tells you what to put on your face. Nobody tells you what happens next.

Cleanser. Serum. Retinol. The expensive one you only use on Sundays. Then you turn off the light, your mouth falls open, and eight hours of dry air pass through it.

You wake up with cracked lips, a dry mouth, a raw throat — and you blame the weather.

Sleeping through the night wearing a NIGHTDOZE strip
The science · peer-reviewed

Your nose was built for the night shift.

Every breath through your nose is warmed, filtered and humidified before it reaches your lungs. Every breath through your mouth skips all three. That is published physiology — not marketing.

Airflow travelling from the nose down into the lungs — warmed, filtered and humidified on the way

01

Your nose conditions every breath

On its way to your lungs, nasal air is warmed to body temperature, filtered, and loaded with moisture. Physiology textbooks call it “air conditioning” — it is your nose’s primary job.

02

An open mouth runs in reverse

Mouth breathing skips the nose entirely and evaporates moisture instead of adding it. In a sleep study, breathing through the mouth left the mouth measurably drier and more acidic by morning.

03

One strip re-routes the night

NIGHTDOZE keeps your lips comfortably closed, so every breath takes the nasal route — the one your body was built to use. Nasal air even carries nitric oxide from your sinuses into the lungs.

These studies describe the normal physiology of nasal breathing. NIGHTDOZE is not a medical device and does not diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any condition.

Same eight hours. Different morning.

“I bought it because the box was pretty, I'll admit it. By the third night I'd stopped waking up at 3 AM for water. Now it lives next to my serum.”

“Taking it off was the part that scared me. It comes away easier than a pimple patch. My husband uses the black strips, I use the pink ones.”

“Took me about four nights to get used to. After that my lips stopped cracking in the morning — something no amount of lip balm ever fixed.”

Frequently asked

What everyone asks before they buy

Is mouth taping safe?
For a healthy adult who breathes through the nose normally, this is simply a soft strip that keeps your lips closed. Don't use it if you're congested, have a cold, or struggle to breathe through your nose. Don't use it after drinking alcohol or taking sedatives. Not for children. If you have a diagnosed sleep or breathing condition, ask your doctor first.
Does it hurt to take off in the morning?
No. It's soft hydrocolloid — the same family of material as a pimple patch, not fabric tape. It comes off in one motion with no redness. If your lips are deeply cracked, apply a thin layer of lip balm first.
What if I need to open my mouth during the night?
The strip opens with very little force. It reminds your lips to stay closed — it doesn't lock them shut.
Will it stop my partner's snoring?
We don't make medical claims. What NIGHTDOZE does is simple: it keeps lips closed so breathing happens through the nose — and open-mouth breathing is a common source of night-time noise. Many couples tell us the room got quieter; your results may vary.
I have a beard, or I wear lip balm at night.
Apply to clean, dry skin — heavy balms weaken the adhesive, so strip first, balm after. Trimmed facial hair around the lips is fine; full coverage over a thick beard will reduce grip.
How long does it take to get used to?
Most customers say 2–4 nights. The first night is the strangest — if it feels odd, wear one for 20 minutes in the evening before trying it overnight. Give it 7–14 nights to become the automatic last step of your routine.
I have (or suspect) sleep apnea or a breathing condition.
Then this product is not the answer — please talk to your doctor. NIGHTDOZE is a comfort and routine product; it does not diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any disease.
How long does one box last?
30 strips — exactly one month of nightly use. The 90-night supply works out 28% cheaper per night and is our most reordered option.
How long is US shipping?
Free shipping across the US, 8–15 business days. You get a tracking number as soon as your order leaves the warehouse. Not delivered within 30 days? Free replacement or full refund — see our Shipping Policy.
